Nikoleta Kerinska was born in 1972 in Sofia, Bulgaria. In 1996 she graduated from the National Academy of Arts, Sofia, Bulgaria. In 2000 she received a Master degree in the field of Arts and Image Technologies. University of Brasilia (UnB) - Visual Arts Department, Brazil. At present she is a PhD student at the University of Paris1 Panthéon-Sorbonne - Doctoral School of Arts, Aesthetics and Art sciences, graduated

"During the last few years, the hybrid process between text and image has become my main creative line. First of all, I’m interested of the opposition between the matter, as physical presence, and the word as a concept. In the second place, my intention is to investigate the rearrangement of these two codes in the independent sign system. My main inspirations are the Roland Barthes’s texts, and the idea that a written language is primarily a visual object. From the artistic point of view, I would like to suggest two questions: what can be read between few letters and a piece of body and what kind of reading the matter can provide us?"
